Travel is…

Antigua, Guatemala

Antigua, Guatemala

So I know I just wrote a post today, but I was reading through one of my favorite travel websites, bootsnall.com, and I read something that I had to share.

I was reading an article called Why you should forgo the American Dream and let travel transform your life when I saw something that really inspired me. “Travel is less about seeing sights than it is about searching your soul.” Exactly. This is exactly the sentiment I have tried to put into words to my parents, friends, anyone who looks at me like I’ve lost my damn mind when I tell them I’m going to travel for a year…

Travel is more than visiting some museums and churches, doing all the touristy things you are expected to do. It’s about seeing what you’re made of, testing your limits, pushing your boundaries.  It’s almost a religious experience for me. I find I have more faith (in others, in myself, in something bigger than this world, in life in general) when I’m on the road than any other time of my life. It’s why I’m so passionate about sharing my love of travel with others. I want them to discover the joys travel has to offer for themselves.
