Hmmmm…what gadgets to bring on your RTW trip…this is going to be a difficult topic for me…on my previous long term travels, the only electronics I’ve brought were a cheap sportwatch and a camera. This time, by necessity, will be different. I want to keep up with the blog and so would like to have a way to do that easily without tracking down the nearest internet cafe every time I want to post a blog. A laptop isn’t really practical due to the size and weight it would add to my pack. So I’m thinking a tablet would be better…maybe with one of those flexible roll-up keyboards. A camera, of course. A cheap sportswatch for the alarm and indestructability factors. A phone? I don’t know, maybe it’s something I’ll need when I’m working in Australia, in which case I can probably just get one there. One thing is for sure. Whatever expensive gadgets I decide to bring with me will be armored with an otterbox (or equivalent). I do not want to have to worry about filing an insurance claim if I can avoid it.
