I think I’m going to add a new segment to my blog called pointless travel inventions. I come across so many random travel ideas, rules, objects that make me question “why is that even a thing?” My first pointless travel invention is about U.S. passport cards? It’s basically an ID for someone who wants to travel to the surrounding countries (the caribbean, mexico, canada i think, bahamas), but doesn’t want to spring for a full passport. My question is…why the hell would you get a passport card good for very limited international travel when you can get a passport good for travel to virtually any country in the world?? I guess because it’s cheaper? But seriously? That just seems so pointless to me! Get the passport if only for the cool stamps you can collect in it :-).
