WordPress would have me believe that it’s 6:30 in the morning. It’s not, at least not where I live. It’s 2:30 in the am and my eyes are closing even as I speak. I’m half-way asleep and all I can think of is traveling. My still-as-yet conscious mind yearns for daylight so I may wake to work on me dream that is this RTW trip. A part of my brain has clearly already started to shut down for the night. Every time I close my eyes, even for just a prolonged blink, I see myself as a bird soaring through sky, over land and sea alike. I suppose it is my id trying to tell my conscious self that that is how I see travel. An escape, possibly. An exploration, certainly. As natural as breathing and as essential to my survival. At once, it fills me with dread, desire, calm, anxiety, purpose, excitement. Whether the bird of my half sleep or the nomadic plans of my almost-awake self,I am free.
