I’ve been reading a lot about tourist cards lately and after reading article after article have reached a consensus that there is no consensus on whether or not they tend to be worth their price. The best advice I can give you is to figure out what attractions are must sees before you look into a tourist card. If you decide what to do based on what the tourist card offers, you are most likely going to be missing out on some awesome experiences as I have rarely heard of a card that offers admission or discounts on all of the “best” attractions and none of the lame ones. Of course, what you think of as best or lame are probably going to differ from what I see as best or lame. For instance, an ecotour through the Amazon teaching me the traditional uses of native plants sounds fascinating to me, while a museum of Amazon history would put me to sleep. Anywho, just use common sense. If a tourist card seems sketchy or too good to be true, it most likely is. Do your research to see if that particular tourist card is really worth buying or whether it’s a waste of money.
