Holiday Hangover

Well, it’s January 3rd, 2013…officially the end of the 2012 holiday season (for me, at least). Back to the grind! Over the holidays, I became SUPREMELY uninspired to do anything…including work on this blog, future travel plans, and my budding business. This is somewhat normal for me…I think it’s a combination of the dreary weather, all of the rich food, the family stress (er, joy), and just the general craziness that comes with the holidays.

Now all that is over and I am forcing myself to become productive.  Starting tomorrow…ok, ok, I know I’m procrastinating. I was going to start my awesome get-going plan today, but I’ve been so run-down from the holidays and I woke up feeling not so hot today, so I decided to give myself one more day of guilt-free laziness. Anyway, as I was saying, tomorrow I’m going to go jogging, fit in an hour of Rosetta Stone time (I want to be a fluent Spanish speaker before my trip), put finishing touches on a tour I’ve been working on in Central America, add another page to my business website, clean the living room and write a really insightful post for my blog ;-).  On a more long term note, I’m going to run at least 3x a week (not that big of a stretch from what I’m already doing), do at least 5 hours of Rosetta Stone a week, add 2 pages a week to my website and write at least 3 posts a week.  You may have noticed that I did not label these my New Year’s Resolutions. It’s simply because I tend to view NYRs as temporary and these are life changes I want to make.  Running because it makes me feel good overall, it actually makes my knees feel better, and I want to be in the best shape I can be in when I travel in order to get the most out of my time traveling.  I’ve been trying to learn Spanish for years now, but for some reason it hasn’t stuck. It’s one of the only subjects I’ve ever had a problem with learning, which sucks because I want to learn it. It is something I have actively pursued, even when it wasn’t required for school. Also, with my dreams of running an ecotourism company primarily in Central America, it is becoming a necessity.  Obviously, adding to and refining my business website is going to help me achieve my business goals (hopefully haha) and I think this blog is going to be good practice for keeping a blog while I travel and will just be helpful to get my thoughts down.

Sooo, basically, all of my proposed life changes really have to do with travel, either directly or indirectly lol…I guess that’s appropriate for a travel whore, such as myself. Ok, I know this was a discombobulated post, but as it says in the title, I am suffering from Holiday Hangover, so bear with me as I get back in the swing of things.  I hope you had a great holiday!
